The Fifth World Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation

The 5th World Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation will take place in Berlin, on Sunday 4th October 2009. The celebration will be on the eve of the 2009 Organ Donation Congress (5-7 October 2009), a joint event of the European Transplant Coordinators Organization (ETCO) and of the International Society for Organ Donation and Procurement (ISODP). The event will be organized by the German Society for Organ transplantation (DSO). The program includes topics on several aspects of Organ Donation, such as the relation with the media, transplant tourism, and donation after cardiac death (DCD) an issue of increasing importance in developed and developing countries alike.
